Everyone talks about SF and SMS, but do you really know the difference between them? What are they?
“S“ :
spunbond polypropylene nonwoven fabric
The nonwoven fabric is a lightweight, breathable fabric, which is consists of continuous filament. The two fabrics we will discuss below are based on this nonwovens.
"SMS" is short for
(spunbond+meltblown+spunbond nonwoven)
SMS fabric belongs to a kind of laminated nonwoven, it’s composited by two layers spunbond and one layer meltblown. Meltblown fabric has high rigidity and resistance to microorganisms, it is the best of porous and fabric
SMS fabric is lightweight and resistant to tear and punctures, breathability, softness, and wearability, can be attained precise filtration efficiency, widely apply to different commercial, health care, medical, industrial areas.
"SF" is short for PP +PE
Spunbond polypropylene nonwoven fabric (PP) coated with polyethylene film (PE)
PE film is soft, very flexible, clear and glossy and has good tear resistance and good moisture barrier. SF fabric is with strong waterproof performance and impervious character. SF fabric is widely used for a high level of fluid-resistant area to protect from liquid, chemicals or biological hazards.
These two fabrics are very good fabric insulation clothing, due to the characteristics of the fabric itself, the general requirements of the insulation liquid, will prefer to use SF fabric more, SMS is more inclined to light, breathable.
